They are not exactly a highly structured, monolithic organization, it would appear.

Who is "Anonymous" really, after all?

In the comments at that top linked story from Zero Hedge, an alleged member of Anonymous describes some of the sub-groups under the larger umbrella of Anonymous, and their differing agendas. Worth a read for background info.
